TELEFEX MARINE BREAKTHROUGH PRODUCTS

Cable Steering
Teleflex revolutionized small boat steering. In 1962, we introduced the Big-T cable steering system, which used a helical cable instead of the traditional rope and pulley system commonly employed. We made continual improvements throughout the 60s , 70s, and 80s, including a new rack and pinion steering system. In 1991, Teleflex introduced No-FeedBack steering, the first cable steering system to effectively counter torque steer from more powerful outboard motors. Introduced in the mid 80s, the Teleflex pioneered tilt steering for recreational boats.

Hydraulic Steering
Teleflex acquired Capilano Engineering Co., Ltd in 1974. Capilano’s patented Uniflow Valve was the premier technology that led to the development of the initial System 10 and more importantly, the SeaStar steering system in the early 80s. From that beginning has come the SeaStar Pro system for high performance boats and the BayStar system, a more economical system. In 2005, Teleflex introduced SeaStar Power Assist.

Electronic Controls
Teleflex pioneered CANBUS technology for the small boat market in the 1990s and in 2002 introduced its i6000 series Digital Throttle and Shift Control. NMEA 2000 “Plug and play” technology simplified installation, especially for boats with dual stations. Teleflex continues to work with other industry partners to expand on the potential of electronic controls.

Control Cables
Teleflex made its mark in the marine industry and indeed in many other industries through the design and manufacture of push/pull control cables. The Flexatrol flexible conduit was introduced in the 1950s and in the 60s quickly established Teleflex as the leading manufacturer of marine throttle and shift control cables for both dual and single lever systems. Teleflex TFXTREME now provides the ultimate in performance and reliability.

The combined marine brands of Teleflex Marine included Teleflex, SeaStar, SeaStar Pro, BayStar, Shields Marine Hose and Sierra Engine and Drive Parts.

ProHeat
Starting diesel engines in the cold of winter is easier thanks to ProHeat engine heaters.

Prime Line
Teleflex markets a full line of outdoor power equipment drive parts and accessories under the Prime Line brand.

Global Chain
Situated in Singapore with a rich history of chain manufacturing since 1970, the company was first set up to manufacture world famous brand ‘ACME’ and later in 1991 branded IMO & of late “GLOBAL”.
This company is one of the very first chain companies certified under the new API Q1 Quality Certification which exceeds that of ISO 9001. Therefore it is of superior quality. The prime mission is customer satisfaction which includes prompt deliveries, good quality and reasonable cost. We also specialize in made-to-order chain.
